Fully automatic laser trimming cell for rotary shaft seals (RWDR)
Development of a fully automated 'stand-alone' manufacturing cell for the laser trimming of radial shaft seals from bulk material. Unlike inline solutions, this system manages the entire process: from feeding and singulation, through precise double-trimming (outer and inner diameter), right down to sorted output. The process guarantees a burr-free cut at two positions in a single setup.
Technical Data:
Application: Radial shaft seal (RWDR) trimming on the outer (30 mm) and inner diameter (20 mm).
Material Feed: Bulk material via vibratory bowl feeder & linear conveyor.
Laser Source: Fiber laser.
Beam Delivery: Fiber optic cable with integrated collimator.
Optics: Beam diameter 7 mm (input), focal spot diameter < 0.2 mm.
Cycle Time: Approx. 7 - 10 sec. per component.
Handling: Pneumatic pick-and-place system with a high-precision clamping fixture.
Cycle: Parallel feeding and processing for minimized cycle times.
